Brenna’s room updates

Just thought I’d share a few little details I’ve put together for Brenna’s bedroom.  The ultimate goal is a Paris theme with an emphasis on the Eiffel tower.  We’re going to add some decals to the walls and paint the bed wall pink.  The shades I ordered for this room are a soft pink and the drapery set is mostly white with a black/white polka dot trim that matches the bed quilt.  It’ll get there eventually but so far she is happy with what we’ve gotten.

She loves to sit at her desk.  I wasn’t that sure about getting her one but am glad we did.  That lamp on her desk was one we already had in her old room.  Luck would have it that it matches the new room too.  She wants a big black bookcase in her room but I told her that is impossible as long as the Barbie house is taking up the only space where it would go.  She decided Barbies were more important for now.

The following is the toy storage I put together in her walk-in closet.  Her clothes are on the other side.  We already had the wire shelving from the office closet in the old house but I replaced the blue/green/purple storage bins with black and pink ones.  Easy peasy and the upgrade only cost $30. There is about a 12″ inch area of space to the right of the shelf unit and that is where we hung her purses and put a couple of her larger Polly Pocket items that don’t fit in the unit.  The containers mostly hold Polly Pocket stuff, Legos, and blocks.

She wanted an elegant Paris style hamper for inside her closet and I wasn’t sure where to find something that fit the bill.  I found this one on amazon.com for really cheap and she was thrilled with it.

I googled Paris pillows and this one came up.  I had to get it.  She was so excited when it arrived she squealed!

I also found some  really cute personalized Paris theme items at a great site called FarmHouseFive.  I ordered this clock, a wall picture, and a door hanger.

I need to get a light pink matte and a black frame for this picture before I hang it.  The finished product will be about 16×20.  She is so in love with this and wants to hang it over her dresser.

I’ll also share her bathroom here.  I let her pick out ANY theme she wanted.  I was rather hoping she’d choose something similar to her bedroom or at least in a similar color scheme but this is what she really, really, really wanted over anything else.  This set is from Target.  In addition to buying a set of the matching polka dot towels I also got several other big bath towels in the same colors as the dots and replaced all her old bath towels which were getting pretty ratty after years of use.

The polka dots don’t go at all with the pretty tile backsplash but oh well!  I tried to steer her into a pretty ocean theme set in those same colors but she wouldn’t hear of it.
